The central government has notified the appointment of Justice V Ramasubramanian as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.

He has replaced Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary who was the acting Cheif Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary became acting CJ after the elevation of the former CJ, Justice Surya Kant to the Supreme Court.

Justice Ramasubramanian originally hails from Madras High Court and is presently the senior-most judge in Telangana High Court.

He was recommended as CJ of Himachal Pradesh High Court by the collegium in a resolution passed on May 10.
